2 X 2 Ribbing

This stitch is also called k2, p2 rib and like the 1x1 ribbing, it is also used for hems brims and socks.  This produces a very stretch fabric.  A little more stretch than it’s 1x1 counterpart.

I knit the example swatching using US size 8 DPN with Cascade 220 Superwash.

Flat:

Multiple of 4

Row 1: *k2, p2; rep from * to end

Repeat this row until desired length.

Multiple of 4+2

Row 1: k2, *p2, k2; rep from * to end.

Row 2: p2, * k2, p2; rep from * to end

Repeat these 2 rows until desired length.

In the Round:

All rounds: *k2, p2; rep from * around.

Charted:

Again I had fun doing this one while watching a few movies. It was easy and fast to knit up! I hope you all had fun doing up this stitch.  The next stitch I am going to explore is the Cartridge Stitch.  Get out your needles and join me in swatching up this next stitch pattern.

As always Happy Crafting my Copious Critters!
