Re-Energize and Beat the Winter Blues - Day 18

Wow, I can hardly believe it, it is Saturday again! The weather outside is cold (hovering around 34 degrees F or 1 Celcius). The sun is shining and it is time to go out and walk around the seawall in Stanley Park. This is one of my favorite activities in the winter. We don't really get any snow here but it does seem coldish compared to those beautiful spring and summer days. Yet, that fresh air is so welcoming when the sun shines!
Walking outside is perfect for inspiration (in Vancouver the cherry trees are blooming and the daffodils are raising their heads in their yellow glory).
Today I want to talk about renewing your energy so that you can continue to so that which you love. Energy is the life-blood of any artist or maker. And without it, those ideas no longer flow. If you are getting those winter blahs, it is time to go outside and perhaps do some window shopping (or real shopping, if you are so inclined). Look at everything around you for building some new energy.
Eat something special this weekend, something you would consider a big treat. I know Valentine's is just around the corner, but a treat that you want for yourself is also important. Today I am going for that walk, then go for a special meal at noon in Chinatown. Dim Sum is so special for me, especially around now when it is Chinese New Year and the Year of the Pig.
For my crafts today, I chose to make some flowers using only the letters of the alphabet. I focused on three letters: b, l, and p. See if you can find them in these designs.
Lots of fun - especially when it came to applying the paint.
What will you do to re-energize yourself today?
Until tomorrow...
Bette
